What do you know about energy? Maybe not enough to be effective.

Many people confuse energy with inspiration or motivation. Energy is a purely physical resource—much like money or people’s time.

The things we do consume our energy. Let’s say one task takes away one unit of energy. If we add another task on top, we must sacrifice some activity that provides physical rest.

A unit of energy is taken, and a unit of work comes in. In other words, for every second task we end up losing 50% of our energy. Until we realize that work is always a contact with the body, sedentary work will continue to drain energy. In our subconscious, work equals bodily tension.
